Your 3rd line sucked the air out of my complaint that oceans don’t have cobra ducts. (They have sea snakes related to Asian cobras and they have ducks, but no snake pipelines that I know of.) Nice use of an unusual combination of words. I also love the pithy phrases that begin your tale.
