TOKEN rhymes I shan’t explain.

TRUST in what is true; in the One you
EXIST to glorify.
TAROT cards? Seers? Dismiss with a
FLAIR. They’ll mislead or even horrify.

ODDLY she held out her gathered skirt,
QUITE disdainfully shielding us from the
CAMEL cigarette ad playing in black and white on the TV behind her- LOYAL to her belief that she was saving us from certain ruin.

FLUTE of wine in my fingertips,
FOLIO spread on my knees; musing,
LEACHing inane words from
PROSE; reshaping it into poetry

SCAMPing at the dump in a polka-dot
SHIRT and red plaid skirt,
(CLASHing in more ways than one)
Yet no one sane would
REBUT her claim to all she unearthed and won: such as a

SNARE for critters looking like new; a
CHUNK of styrofoam busted in two; a
TURBO pipe all rusted through; plus a dirty old
CLEATed soccer shoe (pee-yew!)

AMONG the hills a bluff stands mightily,
HALVEd by an echoing
GULCH where downpours find their
OUTGO, roaring past water-worn walls that readily fall silent when the sun and river’s run have had their say.

BASIL’s wife is somewhat
PLUMP and he is quite a
TEASE. She answers
DRYLY his remarks, avenging
them with ease.

Bawdy
GAZER stunned by taser made
GAUDY dancer’s
LUNGE go
BADLY…sadly.
