The Lesser Versailles

CANDY the outbuildings with paint and ornament,
PRIVY is still a privy, the handyman thinks, painting
NINTH stencil on its side. He finds it all too precious.
DRIER wits will henceforth call it “the Lesser Versailles”.

Excess

Overindulgence of CANDY
at Christmas has meant today’s NINTH
trip to the outside, long-drop PRIVY
and too much washing in the DRIER.           

Growing wiser

Once I acCRUDE some understanding in this hospital, I
LEARNed that a little bitty knowledge of the
NURSE’s daily workload goes a long way to getting a
BITTY – a little bitty – more help with my post-op struggles.  

Speaker of the House

NURSE ambitions, while slamming shutters to the soul.
LEARN blanketing darkness, grinding step by step, shrink to
BITTY horizon, till there’s nothing beyond today’s desire,
CRUDE purpose, of no value to you or anyone else.
