Resting Spot

SLATE smooths out over the years when used as a

BENCH for so many tired butts on this trail steep enough to

QUASH many a dream of a fun outing with the family,

FOGGY memories of the trail being easier (or bodies being younger).

FOGGY brain when faced with four days’ worth of Quordle words is
QUASHed by choice: Too many words! The brain goes numb, sits at its
BENCH like an illiterate child in primer school, picks up its
SLATE, sucks its thumb, and wonders what this hard black board is for.

Utopia

HAZEL evoking a plant, a color, eyes. What if the hazel
BERETs were a group devoted to spreading good, rejecting
FALSE greatness, seeking the welfare of all? An anti-
COVEN, something the larger group embraced, not feared? And how soon would they fail their own aspirations?

Rivalry

BROWN van barrels into the
PLAZA, screeches to a stop.
DRUNK UPS driver stumbles out. Couldn’t
DODGE Fedex driver’s cutting words. So what if the uniform is ugly? Good work is still being done.

April 12: A plugin update has caused a problem where the like button which is placed below posts now shows up twice. I probably won’t have time to diagnose and fix until the weekend, FYI.
