Chiliast in a Canoe

SHONE that day the last sun,
WRIST watch down to final second
CHILIast marked the moment at falls’ lip,
CANOE almost hovering before the tip, then the plunge.

Note: I felt that the normal uses of canoe were taken by the time I got to it.

Sunstroke

SHONE on my wrist-watch, the sun.
WRIST tastes of chili, that’s weird.
CHILI con canoe – er, carne – how dumb!
CANOE reflects water; sun shone, I steered.

Inflation

HONEY, come over here and check out the
PRICE of this bunch of radishes. This must be a
PRANK – almost a dollar per individual Brassicaceae?*
POUTY-faced is how I’ll be when I reach the checkout!

Brassicaceae can be pronounced Bras-si-kay-cee – and is in this piece.

Act!

ERASE grievance, ponder action, venture out in hope,
BORNE must be outrageous fortune, dismissed the if-only sham,
SLINGs and arrows weathered, assert your agency’s small dram.
BROODing: what will it gain or change? Act within your scope!
