TABBY thinks herself goddess of the apartment,
SIXTY strides through all the rooms,
NORTH wall cool in summer,
NERVES of all must be tempered, she does not like a fuss.

REEDY voice begs for a
BASIN to wash away
BAWDY and belligerent sins––
VIGILant Forgiver rejoices.

TABBY or not tabby. After
SIXTY years on this planet do I have the
NERVE to travel further
NORTH, or will I stay at home?
PRISM through which some see the world is a

SCORN for Walmart.

GAUDY trinkets, trifles, whatnots, and
PRISMs: imitation rainbows. I sneer,
SCORN the tinsel tawdry.
PRISM in natural philosopher’s study casts spectrum,
GAUDY bauble to some, yet to reason’s probing, revelation.
CRAFT of thinking builds on known, ventures farther, unknots tangled mysteries.
SCORN for philosopher or priest will arise in time, harder unknowns left behind, assumed as understood.
